You have got to shake your head and laugh at all these gimmicky FSBO (for sale by owner) sites on Facebook, Twitter and the internet encouraging sellers to not use the professional services of a real estate agent. For one, these sites are run by people who ARE NOT licensed to trade in real estate, will not provide you with one ounce of valuable advice or expertise material that will aid and assist you to sell your home properly for full value. Some do NOT have access to the same resources we have paid for and are authorized to use as licensed agents while some others 'piggy back' on some of those resources as permitted by the Competition Bureau of Canada. 

Lastly, would you trust your most prized and valuable retirement asset to a Facebook page or website run by individuals who are trying to prey on the desperation or personal circumstances of people? You certainly wouldn't want to save money on commission by taking a very high serious risk by using something that is NOT overseen by real estate regulators such as CREB (Calgary Real Estate Board), RECA (Real Estate Council of Alberta) and CREA (Canadian Real Estate Association)? All of these groups of professional regulators all work and function collectively to set out the laws, rules and regulations to make sure that YOU, the consumer are protected from people like these individuals who operate these sites and set bait to attract vulnerable consumers who can easily be persuaded to make serious and costly mistakes.
